I thought to suggest this after reflecting on some embarrassing exchanges over the years – another just recently – and not just with younger counsel.\u00a0 One senior partner in a\u00a0firm didn’t know that expert’s reports are sent via email today.\u00a0 You could hear his\u00a0silence over the\u00a0phone.\u00a0 Another estimated the total cost of a forensic engineering investigation at less than the\u00a0invoiced cost of preliminary work.\u00a0 Still another didn’t know that experts\u00a0invoice on completion of\u00a0individual stages in a forensic investigation, not for several stages in advance.<\/p>\n
Don’t wing it.\u00a0 Get it out there if you are relatively new\u00a0to this.\u00a0 You will learn how to work with an expert and control the cost of your case better.<\/p>\n
